Contact Report:
A covert SIS listening post deep within Imperial territory intercepted an encrypted transmission sent to Dromund Kaas from the Imperial Reclaimation Service survey ship Doomsayer conducting a routine exploration mission near Rakata Prime. Decryption of this communique revealed the Empire's discovery of an ancient Rakata technology capable of creating massive energy bursts. Although a working prototype of this device was not discovered, Imperial researchers suspect a working module is buried within the tombs of Belsavis. It is assessed that the Empire intends to weaponize this technology for use against the Eternal Empire. Further reporting suggests the Empire has tasked a Sith Lord, known as Darth Xury <Penumbral>, to lead a covert ground operation on Belsavis in order to seek out and secretly secure a working prototype.
Republic High Command is determined to prevent the Empire from developing new weapons of mass destruction. Any new weapons technology developed by the Sith poses a direct threat to the security of the Galactic Republic. Technological parity must be maintained with the Sith Empire at all costs. To respond to this threat, Alpha Company of the 203rd Republic Expeditionary Legion was given orders to proceed immediately to Belsavis, enhance local planetary security, and prevent any Imperial excavation of the planet's surface.
After coming out of hyperspace in a high orbit over Belsavis, the R.W.S. Alrek Torik deployed a squad sized element of Troopers, a reconnaissance team, and a small liason group from the Jedi Order to the planet's surface. Recon forces immediately began search operations and quickly discovered a concealed Imperial landing zone within a region locally referred to as "The Tomb". Alpha Company ground forces converged on the location and used precise intelligence information provided by the reconnaissance element to setup concealed ambushes on all Imperial forces attempting to move throughout the region. Every Imperial patrol seen leaving their landing site was hunted down and eliminated with devastating effect, including the defeat of the expedition's Sith overseer, Darth Xury.
After four crippling engagements and the defeat of Darth Xury, the Empire withdrew its landing craft from the planet. All remaining excavation personnel on Belsavis laid down their arms and surrendered to Republic forces. With the planet secured once more, Alpha Company forces returned to the R.W.S. Alrek Torik for rest and re-fit.
In the ensuing diplomatic exchange after the incident, the Sith Empire has denied any involvement or knowledge of this event.
Positive Points:
This event was fun for all participants. Even the Imperials expressed their enjoyment after the hostilities were over. It was especially positive that we were able to hold another event with <Penumbral> before their upcoming server transfer in early December. Their respectful collaboration for the benefit of the RP community of this server will be missed.
Moreover, this event provided opportunities for our unit to practice its World PvP tactics and prowess. Alpha Company forces performed their roles and duties admirably. It was training, experience, and discipline that created our overwhelming victory over the Empire. Keep your skills fresh and remember the fundamentals taught in our robust training programs. I look forward to fighting the next battle with all of you in the days to come.

Positive Points:
- The odds were very even, with a 12:12 ratio of Imperial to Republic players.
- Our friends from <The True Republic> were very helpful and aided us in balancing out our force to match the opposition.
- Alpha Company forces were successful in every round of the event (4 rounds, 5 skirmishes), even the one that had poor initiation.
- The enemy VIP target (Xury <Penumbral>) was successfully targeted and eliminated in all four rounds of the event.
- The friendly VIP (1SG Rakehell<Alpha Company>) was never defeated at any point during the operation.
- Superior performance by the recon element led to multiple successful ambushes that caught the enemy in unfavorable terrain or by complete surprise.
- There was not much cross-faction roleplay to be had, most participants were focused on the fight alone.
- A "bait and trap" tactic went poorly due to placing the bait too far from the assaulting element.
- The "VIP" aspect of this event seemed relatively unimportant, as the fight turned into more of a force on force engagement in each round.
This event was fun for all participants. Even the Imperials expressed their enjoyment after the hostilities were over.
