Contact Report
Enemy Encountered: Hrokkvir and several other Imperial combatants
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: N/A
Contact Summary: At 2100 hours the troopers of Alpha Company gathered on the outer rim planet of Hoth to patrol local areas in an effort to solidify the unit's hold on the planet, and to wrangle more Tauntauns for the company stable. After spending time adjusting gear for the cold, the unit stepped off at 2110 hours and proceeded north toward the first known nest location.
After making it to the second nest however, the unit stumbled upon several individuals already engaged in some activity with the nest. During questioning, Corporal Illumori realized that the individual he began speaking with was none other than the infamous Hrokkvir, a Sith lord who has given the unit plenty of conflict in the past. Immediately, Corporal Victus demanded he surrender himself to the custody of the Army of the Galactic Republic. The Sorcerer did not agree. After an initial warning, and as the Imperials gathered into a tight-knit group in front of him, Corporal Illumori made a danger-close call for fire, putting himself at mortal risk.
As the rounds pounded into the solid ice and snow, shrapnel from not just the explosives but from the ice itself penetrated the thin armor of the Imperials, almost wiping them out entirely. The troopers who stood nearby were unscathed, thanks to the fortitude of Dura-Steel. With the engagement's explosive start, the Imperials scattered, engaging the troopers desperately. With a fortuitous willpower, they survived for longer than a normal group of hostiles would, but eventually fell due to the troopers violence of action. It should be noted in the archives that it commonly pays off to shoot first...
After dispatching the five or so Imperials, the troopers continued with their mission of wrangling new Tauntauns for the newer members of the unit. While en route to the next known location, Ghost Squad reported several Imperial contacts approaching from the rear. Turning the patrol around, Corporal Victus halted the troopers at 70 meters from the line of Imperials. Walking in front of his entourage, the evil Sith Sorcerer Hrokkvir stood, robes tattered, but still alive. He extended his lightsaber toward the troopers and bellowed, "I challenge YOU, KJ'VAGO! WARRIOR TO WARRIOR! AND ONLY THE STRONGEST SHALL SURVIVE!"
The First Sergeant appeared from what seemed like thin air. Walking calmly toward the enraged Sith, he radioed over COMMS to stand down.
After a brief, mutual glare of contempt, the Sorcerer sent lightning sprawling toward the experienced staff-NCO. Right before it slammed into his body though, he vanished. Confusion rattled both sides as they tried to make sense of what they had just witnessed. Before long though, First Sergeant Mahr appeared behind the Sith, placing a scattergun into his back and pulling the trigger. Miraculously, the sorcerer survived the initial blast, and only seemed enraged at the action. Through a storm of lightning, blaster rounds, scattergun blasts and waves of Force energy, the fight raged on, each individual narrowly escaping death at every turn. Slowly but steadily, the First Sergeant capitalized on the flow of the fight, putting Hrokkvir on his heels and at some points, chasing him around the frozen wastes. Suddenly, while the Sith began chanting in a foreign language to give him more power, First Sergeant Mahr let fly a barrage of blaster bolts; many of which slammed home into the center mass of the evil Sorcerer. With that, he fell to the ground, mortally wounded. Kj'vago blew the smoke from his blaster pistol, and vanished, once again, into thin air to continue his recon mission.
Corporal Victus then decided to continue the patrol, but after arriving at the next Tauntaun nest, Ghost Squad again reported an approaching enemy force. Corporal Derzis took the initiative and ordered the troopers to begin collecting the necessary data from the nest before the contacts arrived.
Again the Imperials showed up, but this time there was no trial by combat. It was an all-out brawl. During the fighting, putting herself at great risk, Trooper Eroca used her shield generator with great skill and speed, preventing much of the potential damage from impacting her fellow troopers. Due to the increased number of Imperial contacts and focused fire and force attacks, the combat medics became overwhelmed, and Trooper Eroca fell, badly wounded, from a lightsaber slash to the chest. Despite this adversity, Sergeant Kateri continued to do the same as Trooper Eroca, taking the brunt of attacks before they could impact anyone else in the unit. Although she was overwhelmed by the amount of guard-swapping, she kept everyone in the unit from certain death, allowing the combat medics to do their job. Through blaster fire, force lightning and other flying objects and attacks, the Sith and Imperial forces were again defeated. With a quick micro-injection to the carotid artery, Corporal Illumori revived Trooper Eroca and patched her up for the next fight.
After making their way to the next few nests, it was clear that, according to First Sergeant Kj'vago's recon reports, that the Imperials had no idea where the men and women of the 203rd had gone. After visiting every one of the known Tauntaun nests to collect necessary data and wrangle Tauntauns, the troopers had accomplished their mission.
Suddenly, however, on the horizon were now ten Imperial contacts, and still only seven troopers in the patrol. With their backs to the ice shelf wall, and being boxed in, the Imperials charged wickedly and with great ferocity. Although the ensuing battle was hard fought, the pure volume of Imperials overwhelmed the troopers, and they had to immediately call for CASEVAC back to the Torik. After barely escaping death, the soldiers of the 203rd stood tall on the Bridge deck as Corporal Illumori informally dismissed them.
Trooper Eroca was transfered immediately to the sick bay where she received emergency medical care. Corporal Victus reports that her wounds are healed and she is fit for full duty. He mentions that we should put in a requisition for more Bacta tanks.
