Summary: Alpha Company Forces conducted a training session on the fundamentals of squad leadership, covering the 5 main troop leading procedures for successfully leading a team of 5 or more Alpha Company troopers. Upon completion of the curriculum, all participating troopers have been provided with the tools and knowledge necessary to execute planetary operations in accordance with our organization's military doctrine and standardized tactics.
Positive Points:
• The course started on time with a great turn out!
• There was a lot of group participation. With many veteran leaders in attendance the training was enhanced with personal experiences and informative anecdotes.
Negative Points:
• This course does not include hands on, practical exercises that allow troopers to practice using the skills that were discussed in lecture.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation:
This period of instruction was successfully executed within its allotted time slot and taught the curriculum according to the course standard. Some students commented that they would like more hands on exercises to help them practice the principles taught in this course. Future modifications to this program in order to provide these exercises should be considered.
