---------------------------------------------------------------------
Contact Report:
Enemy Encountered: <Warlord> <Order of the Red Hand> and assorted Imperial Conscripts (About 20-30 level 50's and additional sub-50s)
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: About 5-10 Republic Conscripts and Jedi (50's and sub-50's)
Contact Summary: Alpha Company received reports of a large Imperial force harassing Republic citizens in the Dune Sea, and promptly deployed an understrength squad to the region to conduct security operations. Shortly after arrival, Alpha Company Forces made contact with the enemy force, which proved to be both numerous and very hostile. Outnumbered roughly 3:1, Alpha Company forces engaged the enemy across the dunes, inflicting heavy casualties upon the enemy force and keeping them holed up inside their staging area at Outpost Zaroshe. The Imperial numbers proved to be overwhelming, and Alpha Company forces were forced to fall back and form a hasty defense outside Outpost Thorazan. By this time, Alpha Company reinforcements had arrived, bringing the strength on the ground up to a full squad.
The Imperials then attacked Outpost Thorazan in force, and were massacred by the organized defense effort in short order. Alpha Company forces used this victory to seize territory close to the Imperial staging area and setup a blocking effort to prevent future assaults. The Imperial forces refused to march from the safety of their compound, allowing Alpha Company forces to conduct harassing hit and fade attacks against the enemy lines, inflicting moderate casualties while suffering little in retaliation. These raiding efforts successfully sparked an enemy counter-attack in force. Facing overwhelming numbers, Alpha Company Forces conducted a fighting withdrawal and drew the enemy force out from the protection of their base sentries. In addition to drawing the enemy into the open, Alpha Company forces also caused heavy attrition among the enemy ranks while still maintaining its own combat strength. Upon reaching a terrain advantage, Alpha Company Forces stood toe to toe with remaining enemy pursuers and obliterated the entire enemy force.
Pushing forward again, Alpha Company Forces began assaulting the base sentries directly, attempting to cripple and overwhelm the defenders with superior coordination and firepower. The enemy proved too numerous, and Alpha Company Forces were unable to suppress the suicidal defenders long enough to gain a foothold inside the base perimeter. After reaping countless casualties among the enemy, Alpha Company Forces conducted a tactical withdrawal to a nearby dune and extracted via dropship.
Positive Points:
• A fun engagement for all parties involved!
• Our AoE calls for fire were accurate, well timed, and decimating. We cut down at least 2-3 Imperials in every volley, with some killing 7 or more.
• Our new recruits did an outstanding job following orders and performing their duties as part of a larger unit.
• Specialist Drivvek did an exemplary job in his first performance of Ghost Squad recon functions. Well done.
• With only 5 max-level troopers, a Jedi, a scout, and a few new recruits, we held off a raid of 20+ Imperial 50s.
• This area defense engagement promoted our unit in a positive way among Republic players.
Negative Points:
• The Imperials didn't want to leave the safety of their base, despite having a remarkable advantage in numbers and potential firepower.
• The harpoons and pull chains were mildly effective, but were largely uncoordinated by command and control and could use some more organization in future engagements
• Several of our troopers were sub-50, making their combat power contribution less than desired.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation:
Its good to be back in the fight after such a slow couple of weeks. Well fought troopers, you earned your pay tonight. We will continue to focus on the already planned training efforts in order to further improve our combat effectiveness as a cohesive unit. The new additions to our force will be properly indoctrinated with everything they need to know in order to support combat operations.
Fight As One!
