Areas Patrolled: Starship Graveyard
Patrol Commenced: 1630 Zulu approximately
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Contact Report
Enemy Encountered: No significant empire forces encountered
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: No significant contacts.
Contact Summary:
Corporal Fairbairn was in receipt of a comms relay message from a republic citizen whose name is [REDACTED] - Name omitted from record out of courtesy - in that it was his patriotic duty to inform us of the location of a uniquely powerful power source in the vicinity of the Star of Coruscant. (May that fateful day remain forever in infamy).
After receiving communications on his whereabouts on Hoth, Recruits in formation did liaise with the republic citizen as to the location of the fuel source in which Trooper Sahira was able to interface with and interpret the data crystal supplied.
The formation patrolled to the location, and interdicted a disparate though well equipped scavenger force of no appreciable allegiance. Estimates indicate their efforts would be disrupted for some time, as key defensive positions were neutralised, and communication relays of empire design captured in the area.
After the fuel source's coordinates were confirmed, mobile operations commenced to reach and recover the fuel source by means of deployed climbing equipment.
The formation then extracted in good order with no casualties or detected discovery by empire forces in the region.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Post Operation Assessment
Positive Points:
1. Troops in formation had the opportunity to patrol with recruits in a disciplined and orderly patrol. New recruits had the opportunity to handle delicate matters of liaison and diplomacy.
2. [REDACTED] elements were able to familiarise themselves with the region, key empire relays and landmarks relevant to future patrols.
3. Those recruits whom have not yet completed basic training conducted themselves well.
Negative Points:
None
Recommendations:
1. Overall Assessment and Recommendation: [REDACTED] elements would be recommended to seek out and provide navigation assistance to other inaccessible but tactically useful positions of this kind in future.
2. Advanced practice of controlled stops, and landscape-sensitive formations recommended for continuation training.
