Contact Report:
Enemy Encountered: <Reign>
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: <Uncharted Space> <Guardians>
Contact Summary:
Although initial planning had been geared towards committing combat power to the Alderaan system, the ever-changing political climate forced Alpha Company forces to re-deploy to Tatooine in an effort to head off Imperial forces making advances in the outer rim. The RWS Alrek Torik promptly jumped into the system and rapidly deployed ground forces for a long siege.
The initial phases of the engagement were favorable, with Alpha Company forces seizing the advantage and holding a sizable lead over the enemy. The tables would turn by day three, when enemy forces regrouped and counter-attacked in earnest, keeping Alpha Company forces at bay.
Outnumbered by a much larger force led by <Reign>, Alpha Company forces accepted offers of assistance from <Uncharted Space> and <The Guardians> in the form of additional manpower and material support in an effort to curb the effects of the enemy's numerical superiority. This support brought the fighting back to a neck and neck struggle, with both sides pacing each other in a frantic race for control of the planet.
In the end, Alpha Company force's were thwarted by an extremely narrow margin. With our supply lines severed and control of the planet still out of our reach, orders were dispatched to withdraw all forces and return to the Core Worlds for rest and rearmament.
Positive Points:
As was stated after our successful conquest of Corellia, crafting and resource management is the key to winning conquest events. This information was announced and published in numerous places and the call went out for every trooper to build their resource stockpiles in the 6 week lull between conquest attempts. This stockpiling did not happen unit-wide, with only a handful of troopers reaching the minimum quota of 100 war supplies, and even fewer acquiring the expected 200 war supplies.
This failure to properly prepare is what caused our defeat, not our effort or motivation during conquest week itself. I was very pleased with the focus and dedication displayed last week, but sadly active play is simply not how conquests are effectively won with the current system mechanics. We need to have large stockpiles of material resources available for conversion to conquest points via crafting if we hope to match the power of large Imperial guilds that will continue to target us in the future.
As per the direction given by the Commanding Officer, no future conquests will be planned until at least 25 troopers have prepared at least 200 war supplies at a minimum. When we have this level of preparation complete, command will begin planning a future conquest event. The schedule of our next conquest will be determined by the unit as a whole, not by the command staff.

Positive Points:
- Our entire unit came together to focus on the mission at hand and contributed considerable time and effort for the conquest attempt.
- Many members willingly stayed up long hours and made every effort possible to accrue points in the limited conquest window.
- We received an outpouring of support from the Republic community in our struggle against the Empire despite our numerical disadvantages.
- The power of crafting was clearly demonstrated to those who previously neglected this form of conquest point acquisition.
- We were not able to follow the original deployment plan to Alderaan due to unexpected political shifts among our friends and allies.
- The vast majority of our unit did not prepare enough resources to make a significant impact on the conquest effort. The minimum resource quota was not met by a majority of our troopers.
