Initial Contact: Aproximately 2200 EST
Contact Report
Enemy Encountered: Over 20 plus. Very large element of Clan Epsis supported by numerous smaller independent units.
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Small handful of civilians in and around Outpost Thoazan
Contact Summery: At or around 2200 EST, Alpha Company received a request for aid by the Commander of Outpost Thoazan, due to a small element of Imperial forces attacking Republic citizens in the surrounding area. Alpha Company deployed available troops in reponse to the request. Initial contact with the enemy was made inside Outpost Thoazan and the area was cleared of Imperial troops. For the next hour, Imperial forces mounted harrasing attacks but were repelled each time. At about 2300 EST a very large force of Imperial troops, mostly from Clan Epsis arrived and set up a blockade of the facility. An intense firefight insued, where Imperial troops attempted time and again to storm the outpost. Each time, the attack was repelled by the outstanding efforts of Alpha Company. Finally, at about 0100 EST, the depleted Imperial forces withdrew, concluding the engagement.
Positive Points: Small sub-squad sized formation was able to repel an opposition force almost five times it's own number for over three hours due to excellant communication, motivation and determination
.
Negative Points: Operationally, I did not observe any defficiencies in the conduct of Alpha Company personell. The only negative point was that the encounter took place late in the evening when limited numbers of assets were on hand.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation: Due to Alpha Company's constant training and drill, unit members were able to engage a enemy force many times it's own number and prevail. My recomomendation is that Alpha Company continue to maintain it's high standards and keep up it's training regimine.
