Event Report

Enemy Encountered: None

Friendly/Neutral Encountered: None

Event Summary: Conducted the first installment of the Special Operation Induction course. Course began late as we waited for more troopers to show up. Despite low attendance, the course proceeded as normal. During the training, other Staff were called away. The report for this incident can be found here. While there were some initial issues with retention, all students who attended passed the final review and evaluation period. Class credit has been awarded to all attendees. All unexcused absences have also been noted.

Positive Points:

• Troopers showed good enthusiasm and participation throughout the duration of the event.

Negative Points:

• Very low attendance given the number of Troopers needing training
• Started late again while waiting for people to log on and show up
• Some Troopers were unfamiliar with the training manual. Such familiarity will come with time and review.
• Not enough running.

Overall Assessment and Recommendation: More attention needs to be paid to the forums for events and training. If you are unable to attend required training, you must post on the relevant thread saying so, and should provide times for make-up. Despite forum posts and updated MOTD, a Trooper was heard to say they had no knowledge of the training. In addition, more effort needs to be put into arriving on time. During the event, it was made clear that some Troopers either hadn't read the training manual or were unfamiliar with it. This can easily be remedied, but it makes the job of training easier. All Troopers should review the manual before SOI2. All that said, the event went well, and the Troopers picked up the material fairly quickly.
