Event Report:
Enemy Encountered: 18-22 <Clan Thetes> <Vicious> and other various Imperial Conscripts
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: 4 <Marine Expeditionary Unit>, Malcon <Red Brigade>, 2-4 Additional Republic Conscripts
Event Summary: While assisting the T.H.O.R.N. organization in its fight against the rakghoul plague on Tatooine, Alpha Company forces came across a 6-7 man force under the banners of <Clan Thetes> and <Vicious> staging near a large plagued reek by the name of Plaguethorn. The initial patrol, consisting of only 3 troopers, was overwhelmed by the much larger force and immediately went on the defensive. Focusing on survival, the small force held out without falling until additional Alpha Company troopers arrived and made short work of the disappointed Imperials. After briefly regrouping, Alpha Company forces engaged Plaguethorn in an attempt to exterminate the diseased beast. Shortly after beginning this skirmish the Imperial forces returned, and in far greater numbers. Alpha Company's force was eclipsed as the enemy poured onto the field.
Suffering from 2:1 odds, Alpha Company forces were driven off from the Plaguethorn site and held at bay by an Imperial blocking force while a smaller team of Imperials broke off and attempted to exterminate Plaguethorn in the name of the Empire. Alpha Company forces pushed hard on the Imperial blocking force, inflicting numerous casualties on their main line, but failed to penetrate their perimeter before it was reinforced and strengthened again. Over the course of several minutes, Alpha Company forces had pushed the Imperial blocking position further and further back towards Plaguethorn's location and held the battered blocking force teetering on the edge of collapse when the great beast fell in a lifeless heap at the hands of the the second Imperial force. With their objective completed, both Imperial forces consolidated and renewed their advance against Alpha Company forces with overwhelming numerical superiority, forcing a hasty retreat back to nearby Outpost Largona. The Imperials began assaulting the outpost in an attempt to drive Alpha Company's defending forces off the planet, but failed to penetrate the base's perimeter. Over time, additional Republic reinforcements began arriving on the battlefield and the Imperial's numerical advantage slowly but surely whittled away.
After accumulating sufficient manpower, Alpha Company forces called in several extremely accurate fire missions which cracked the Imperial offensive. Quick to identify the enemy's momentary weakness, Alpha Company forces poured into the breach in the enemy's formation causing them to panic and retreat. All Republic forces surged forward as the Imperial offensive fell apart swiftly. After defeating the Imperial force in its entirety, Republic forces moved together back to Plaguethorn's location. Sure enough, the plague had brought the desiccated creature back to life. Republic forces engaged the creature while Alpha Company forces held a blocking position against Imperial counter-attacks and provided security for the extermination operation. After being routed, the Imperial force failed to successfully regroup and Republic forces retained control of the Plaguethorn site for the remainder of the evening.
Positive Points:
This event was intended to be a quick run against the new T.H.O.R.N. world boss and quickly escalated into an large WPvP conflict. I am pleased with our performance in this fight, despite the criticism identified earlier in this report. Although some troopers momentarily failed to maintain awareness of their positioning, these mistakes were quickly corrected once identified. Again we have shown the Imperials that we are a force to be reckoned with, and held our own against a force twice our size. These types of skirmishes will likely become commonplace with the upcoming launch of Galactic Strongholds, as the Empire is forced to band together and make up in numbers what they lack in experience and organization. Well fought, troopers.

Positive Points:
- Our initial team was overwhelmed at the start of the engagement, but worked together to withstand a harrowing assault until the rest of our force arrived and crushed the first Imperial team.
- Although much smaller, our force created a rather large problem for the Imperials to deal with
- Despite the opportunities for poor sportmanship, all Alpha Company troopers maintained proper comm etiquette and did not engage in trash-talking or immature behavior
- The Imperial force called in everyone and their cousins to overwhelm our force
- Several Alpha Company troopers had difficulty staying together and fighting as one cohesive unit; charging back onto the battlefield alone or chasing Imperials away from the battle line. This allowed the Imperial force to easily overwhelm and crush separated troopers.
