<Exiles> 2
<Arcanum> 1-2
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Velleman <Dark Legion's Empire>
Contact Summary:
Around 2300 hours, 1SG Ricky Rakehell encountered Velleman in the Black Hole, who informed him of Imperial aggression near the Republic base. They engaged the Imperial forces, which were also relatively small at the time (about 3 in strength). Both forces soon began to call in reinforcements, and the engagements grew progressively larger until both sides numbered at 8-9 each. Several battles took place in the vicinity of the Republic base, with both sides evenly matched. Both sides gained and lost ground repeatedly, with neither force emerging the clear victor. While the company utilized Ghost Squad to scout the battleground, it was necessary for Ghost to join the battle as well, as the team lacked healers.
Additional reinforcements arrived as time went on, and the company began pushing forward and moving the battle away from the Republic base after each victory (the Imperials did take advantage of this, however, and were able to successfully flank the company at one point). Eventually, the bulk of the Imperial force withdrew. The company swiftly eliminated the stragglers and patrolled all the way to the Imperial base. 1SG Ricky then dismissed the company, and Samina called for exfil from the area.
Positive Points:
Negative Points:
Overall Assessment and Recommendation:
Overall, the encounter went well, and was mostly quite enjoyable due to the evenly matched forces. I believe that with a little more coordination, many of the battles would have gone overwhelmingly in our favor. This battle also demonstrated how abilities such as electronet should be used judiciously – when used at the right time, it often helped to turn the tide of the battle (it's good to keep in mind that it has a long cooldown). Finally, I'd like to note that I've never interacted with Reformation prior to this encounter, but the behavior I saw was unimpressive. (It was amusing how they constantly insisted we had double their numbers, however—maybe we're just good at making it look like we have more numbers than we actually do?)

Positive Points:
- The battles went smoothly and successfully when we took advantage of the terrain, and when orders were followed correctly.
- The numbers on both sides stayed relatively even, which made for fun, challenging fights.
Negative Points:
- The Imperials engaged in a considerable amount of trash talk. This was mostly from <Reformation>. None of us responded to it, which speaks well of our guild.
- There were several battles where either orders were not followed well, or the terrain was to our disadvantage.
