Enemy Encountered: None.
Friendly/Neutral Encountered:
Event Summary: Alpha Company personnel used the momentary lull in activity during Operation Snowblast to congregate and conduct a refresher training session on combat mechanics and how they come into play in combat encounters. This review course of the full CAT-1 program covered the fundamentals of Attack Types, Damage Types, Crowd Control Effects, The Resolve System, and Defense Mechanics. The students did an outstanding job receiving and understanding the course material and clearly demonstrated their comprehension of very tedious and detailed game mechanics. This course was an abbreviated version and did not include information on itemization or gearing, and thus does not award full CAT-1 credit. It did however, prepare the students with the knowledge they required to be effective participants in the CAT-2D course which occurred immediately after this classes conclusion.
Positive Points:
The course was successfully completed according to the training plan and all topics were covered. This course met the intent of reminding everyone who attended of the basic combat mechanics which are covered in more detail in the CAT-2 series. This was a successful iteration of the CAT-1R program.

Positive Points:
- The course finished on time.
- Students showed a basic level of understanding of the concepts presented after the course was complete, they were ready for CAT-2
- Due to the time slot (weekday) there were several troopers who could have used the refresher that were unable to get online early enough to participate in this program.
