Contact Summary: Alpha Company conducted a Joint Patrol with Marine Expeditionary Unit. The purpose was to provide a controlled test of the combined unit abilities and to see where we functioned well and worked smoothly, and where we needed work or a more focused examination. We completed the patrol with few problems, and ended it with an incursion into the imperial cantina within Outpost Varath.
Positive Points:
- Good Turn out despite being a spur of the moment event.
- Good cooperation despite limited communication.
- Commands were followed and no one went off on their own.
Negative Points:
- No way to communicate by voice between guilds.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation: Despite the last minute nature of the event, we were successful at bringing together a reasonable force from both guilds and managed to get things going after I coordinated details between the groups. Its apparent our lack of a means to communicate by voice beyond my liaison ability could lead to problems affecting our response time in future joint operations. Beyond that it was a superb event, showing our ability to mesh well with the MEU, and their ability to function effectively with us without the need of constant micromanagement or direction. Overall, this demonstrates that they will be an effective ally and it is recommended that Alpha Company works to create more events that allow the Marine Expeditionary Unit a greater level of involvement with us.
