Contact Report
Enemy Encountered: Total fluctuating between 20-30 contacts - <Dark Reveries Legion>, <Shadow Council of the Sith>, <The True Empire>, <Death Cult>, <Clan Vevut>, <Vicious>, <Order of the Sith'ari>, <Penumbral>.
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Around 6-8 friendlies - <Knights of Sokan>, <Star Masters>, and one other unconfirmed guild.
Contact Summary: At around 21:00hrs EST, Lt. Mij receive reports of suspicious persons within Outpost Thorazan. A squad sized force was formed to investigate the reports. The suspicious characters claimed to have a deed to a building within the outpost and was rather displeased by Alpha Company's unwillingness to recognize it. A small fight erupted with the troopers easily dispatching the hostiles. At this time, Lt. Neves arrived on scene to support Lt. Mij and his troopers. The two officers decided to take a scenic stroll together to the nearby hostiles' outpost at Zaroshe to try and talk them down while the troopers held security at Thorazan. Along the way, the two Lieutenants encountered a handful of hostiles which they easily disposed of. Once outside Zaroshe, the two of them fought off the enemy until they were forced to cease fighting and negotiate with the officers. The assumed leader of the enemy agreed to pull their people away from Thorazan if the two officers would agree to hold their troopers back. The two parties agreed, and Lt. Mij and Lt. Neves returned to Outpost Thorazan to oversee a peaceful stand-down. After a few minutes of talking, the enemy remained true to their word (excluding unassociated contacts) and mainly left the area saying "We'll bring more." Intell then streamed in that a large force was massing at Zaroshe and steadily growing larger.
Alpha Company was put on standby while they awaited further reports and reinforcements from the Repulse. A team lead by 1st Sgt. Ricky arrived, putting the strength of our force at a strong squad(+). On orders, Alpha Company pushed from the base and cleared immediate contacts on the area. Moments later a huge force of Sith and Imperials numbering at least 25 mustered on a nearby hilltop. Weary of pointless talking, Lt. Neves ordered the enemy to "Disband". The enemy replied, "No"... followed by one final "Fine" from Lt. Neves and a very effective mortar volley! The enemy tried to withstand the barrage but their numbers were devastated and falling quickly. Numerous engagements such as this ranged back and forth between the oncoming Sith and the vastly outnumbered troopers. With Lt. Neves and 1st Sgt. Ricky trading orders, the organization and discipline of the troopers held strong against the enemy. After an hour of fighting, the troopers were reinforced by friendly contacts and the enemy's numbers began to falter. Still outnumbered, the decision was made to charge the enemy position and break their lines. With effective implementation of tactics and rapid response to ever-changing orders, Alpha Company was able to rout the enemy force and hold them at Zaroshe. There a Sith from <The True Empire> claiming to be the "True Emperor" would not call off what remained of his force until he was satisfied by single combat. Lt. Neves obliged the Sith, and soundly defeated him. The Sith complimented Alpha Company on their combat prowess and assured them of future battles.
Major Qorbin then formed the company up for debriefing, and dismissed them.
Positive Points:
• Vastly outnumbered, we held strong and defeated a larger force. A living example of quality over quantity gents!
• Rapid response to rapidly changing orders enabled commanders to quickly alter tactics to defeat the enemy.
• Good sportsmanship and conduct of the enemy and their leaders, possibility for future engagements.
• Proper use of the terrain enabled us to recover our lost ground.
• Our healers were able to outperform the enemy healers while under severe pressure. This enabled us to quickly utilize tactics to eliminate key components in the enemy force, resulting in a win. Well done healers!
Negative Points:
• Upon return from their initial wipe, the enemy hit our force like a truck resulting in a few casualties early on in the fight. We were able to recover, but we should have been better positioned to defend.
•Sloppy tactics after the first engagement yielded more ground to the enemy than could have been prevented.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation: Outstanding work everyone who was involved! I was pleased with the results after this long and hard fought battle. Fights like these are the best, where it is back and forth until we are able to outmaneuver them for a win. We still need work on setting up focus targets and who to quickly acquire the target of your focus. We also need to improve and expand upon our tactics as well, we will be working on this over time.
