Trainee
Rank: Legionary in Training
Position Description: A person that are accepted into Primus Pilus is initially given the rank of "Legionary in Training" and the position of "Trainee." Trainees are included on the Orbat, but cannot receive promotions or medals, until they have completed their basic training. Upon completing training, a Trainee is promoted to Legionary, and is given the position of Century Member.
Command Responsibilities: NONE
Training Requirements:
New recruits have 30 days to complete the following requirement, upon acceptance into the guild, or you will be "less then honorably discharged"
Recruits must attend at least one RP event (RP patrols, weddings, etc). | |
Recruits must complete the Organized Training Activity (OTA), course #1: Recruit Training. | |
Recruits must complete the Organized Training Activity (OTA), Course #2: RP Training. | |
Recruits must complete the Organized Training Activity (OTA), Course #3: Weapons. | |
Recruits must sign up for the Alpha Company Online Forums (see section 8 for instructions). http://www.alphacompanyonline.org/Forums/index.php |

Recruits must submit a biography on the Alpha Company Online Forums (The Tavern). |
Benefits: Recieve access to the Training Area Forums.
Online Requirements: Very little. In-game correspondence with fellow Recruits, Members and Officers.
Legionary
Rank(s): Legionary
Position Description: A Legionary is a Trainee that has completed his or her training, and has been assigned to a Century for active duty, Legionaries are the primary activity base within Primus Pilus, participating in events, posting on the message boards, talking with fellow members and other activities. Legionaries are encouraged to interact with their immediate superiors.

Benefits:
Legionaries will be allowed to participate in Raids. | |
Awarded 20 DPK Points, upon promotion | |
Legionaries will receive access to the Vent server. | |
Legionaries will receive access to the members only forums. | |
Legionaries will receive access to the members only sections of the web site. |
Online Requirements: Few other then responding to a In-game correspondence occasionally. The expected maximum In-game correspondence response time is generally 1 week. If a member doesn't respond within 30 days, then that member can be considered AWOL and could be removed for active duty.
Skirmisher
Position Description: A Skirmisher is a Trainee that has completed his or her training, and has been assigned to a Century for active duty, Skirmishers are the primary activity base within Primus Pilus, participating in events, posting on the message boards, talking with fellow members and other activities. Skirmishers are encouraged to interact with their immediate superiors.

Position Description: A Equities is a Legionary or a Skimisher that has shown a special commentment to the Guild. Veterns of the guild that are placed in the Mounted Century will be the only ones in the guild to use mounted combat in PvP situations. Equities are encouraged to interact with their immediate superiors.

Decanus
Position Description:A Decanus has shown a commitment to leadership and the ability to follow orders and adapt to tactical situations. A Decanus will be given a command of a Conturbenium (squad), as such he / she will be in charge of making sure that that squad is performing as expected.

Optio
Position Description: Opitos maintain contact with his/her century members, as well as makes recommendations to the Centurion regarding individual or squad performance. In addition, Optios are the first people that should be contacted if you have a request or question.

Optio Cont.
Benefits:
Optios will receive all the benefits of a Decanus. | |
Optios will be able to use mounted combat, in PvP situations. | |
Optios will recieve access to the Officer's only section of the forums. | |
Optios will recieve access to the Officer's only section of the web site. | |
Optios will be able to lead raids, that count for DKP points. |
Online Requirements: Minor. Answering In-game correspondence from members and contact with the Centurion.
Centurion
Position Description: The Centurion manages the day to day operations of the century, including maintaining continuous contact with century members and Optios, reviewing mission/battle performance and making recommendations to the Prefect.

Command Responsibilities:
Centurions oversee the operations of the century. | |
Centurions must keeps in contact with century members and Optio. | |
Centurions review comments, questions, etc from the century. | |
Centurions report to the Prefect with recommendations. | |
Centurions should be familiar with primary reference materials (Training manual, Assault Manuals, etc). | |
Centurions should be familiar with Primus Pilus Web site and Web pages. | |
Centurions should post and read Primus Pilus Message Boards. | |
Centurions should plan and participate in competitions, and events for their century (where possible). | |
Centurions should attend on-line meetings (when possible). | |
Centurions should forward emails, where appropriate from superior officers to the century. | |
Centurions should inform their century of important events, competitions, etc. |
Rank Requirement: By appointment only, must have served as a Optio.
Centurion Cont.
Benefits:
Centurions will receive all the benefits of an Optio. |
Online Requirements: Moderate. Answering In-game correspondence, and review and making promotion request will take up most of the Centurion's time. In addition, it is also expected that the Centurion, maintains continuous activity with his or her century and the Prefect.
Praefectus Castrorum (Prefect )
Position Description: The Prefect oversees all aspects of training within Primus Pilus. This spans from initially helping recruits to meet their entry requirements, to the running of the IWATS. In addition, the Prefect is also available to assist all members, new and old with all aspects of Primus Pilus. Contributes to the development and management of the Legion and is in line for command, should anything unexpected happen to the General, the Prefect also has supervisory capacities over all subgroups.

The Prefect should post and read the Message Boards. | |
The Prefect should reviews reports made by the Centurions before guild meetings. | |
The Prefect should plan and participate in competitions, events and raids (where possible). | |
The Prefect should attend on-line meetings (when possible). | |
The Prefect forwards emails, where appropriate from the General to the century. | |
The Prefect informs the centuries of important events, competitions, etc. |
Prefect Cont.
Duties:
The Prefect oversees the operation of the Organized Training Activity (OTA) courses. | |
Plan and operates the guild compound. | |
The Prefect runs the Training Office Competitions. | |
The Prefect assist all members in training matters. |
Rank Requirement: By appointment only.
Benefits:
The Prefect will receive all the benefits of a Centurion. |
Online Requirements: Heavy. A lot is expected of Prefect and it is not a position to be taken lightly. It is their job to train the entire guild, so that it is running at top performance. The Prefect is expected to be on almost every day of the week. They can also expect to be inundated with requests, questions, comments, etc.
General
Position Description: The General is the overall leader of the legion. The Generals decisions on any matter are FINAL. It should be stressed however that the General will do everything in their power to obtain all the facts from all parties involved. All plot lines and overall legion development ideas must be approved by the General prior to release to the rest of the legion.

Command Responsibilities:
The General should keep in contact with all members. | |
The General review comments, questions, etc from the membership. | |
The General reviews reports made by officers about promotions and medal recommendations. | |
The General makes recommendations to the Prefect about additions or changes to the primary reference materials (Training manual, Assault Manuals, etc). | |
The General should post and read the Message Boards. | |
The General should participate in competitions, events and raids (where possible). | |
The General plans on-line meetings. |
Rank Requirement: By Appointment only.
Benefits:
The General will receive all the benefits of a Prefect. |
Online Requirements: Extreme. A General can be expected to be literally inundated with request, messages, questions, comments, etc. This position is not to be taken lightly as both the online and offline time required to run Primus Pilus is considerable to say the least.
DISCLAIMER: Completing any of the above requirements does not mean that you will automatically receive that rank. It will be based on the recommendation from your Centurion, or Prefect, among other things. However the requirements need to be completed before a promotion will be considered. Exceptions may be made at the desecration of the command staff in times of personal shortages.
